2. The Design: Personal Details and Use of Color
The work included two urns: a larger urn for the complete destination of the ashes and a smaller urn to serve as a portable memento. The color scheme was an important aspect of the design. Where normally the classic colors such as bronze and earth tones are chosen, this was deviated from to reflect the personal preferences of the deceased. The urns were carefully crafted in a palette of soft yellow with accents of red and blue to purple – the woman’s favorite colors.
3. Creation Process and Materials
The urns are made of Acrylic One (AC1), a sturdy and lightweight material that is perfectly suited for both indoor and outdoor use. Creating these urns was not only a technical process, but also an emotional journey. The unique profile of the deceased was subtly incorporated into the design, creating a lasting, tangible memory. The manual finishing and application of the colours made each piece unique and personal.
4. The Result and Emotional Meaning
The delivery of the urns was a special moment full of emotions. The client and his friends felt a deep pride and satisfaction, despite the sadness. The work symbolizes not only the loss, but also the lasting love and the connection that continues to live on. This collaboration between artist and client produced a memorable work of art that tells the story of a life.
